As an ongoing communication between school and home, each month
"The Camelot Preschool Newsletter

describe the activities of that month for your child's classroom,
along with interesting useful information available to you. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free
to make a conference appointment with your child's teacher.
Special In School Events
The Little Farm will be visiting our school to culminate their classroom lesson on
Farm Animals and Our Pets. The Little Farm
is unique because the animals in the petting farm are not hand fed.
The children can approach the animals, the animals do not chase the children for a treat.
The animals are maintained to the highest USDA standards of health to protect both the children and the animal.
The inventory is large enough that the animals can be rotated. No animal that is not in excellent
condition needs to come to fill a slot. The staff are hired for their ability to relate in a positive
way to children and to convey accurate information about the animals. The physical structure and animal
handling procedures have been refined over the years to minimize risk to both animals and children.
The guidelines that we developed are now the core of the Florida 4-H Guidelines for Animal Exhibits
as well as the standards that several insurance underwriters use to evaluate other petting farms.
No School Labor Day. Celebrate the historic holiday that commemorates the huge contributions
the workers have made to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our nation.
"Say Cheese" Picture Day is a fun school and family tradition. A professional photographer
will be at Camelot to take individual pictures of your child. We keep it fun by taking care of details. Our staff
makes certain that picture day goes smoothly and that every student looks their best. Pictures will be available for
viewing with no commitment to purchase, two weeks from the photo shoot.

We will be having our annual Food Drive
Daily Food Bank, a non-for-profit organization, empowers other South Florida non-for-profit
organizations to feed needy people and improve their lives. We do this by providing food and other
grocery products; and by educating and engaging our community to fight hunger and poverty.
Please support with non-perishable (non frozen and no glass jars) food goods.

Our Butterfly Garden is a great source of enjoyment for our students which encourages their
interest in nature. The children have been learning about caterpillars, cocoons and butterflies and will be releasing their butterflies into our garden.
In the butterfly theme, the children will learn to identify the four stages of a butterfly's life cycle.
They really enjoy watching the changes that take place. It is important to conserve butterflies when possible since their habitat
is constantly diminishing due to the increasing needs and consequent development of roads and housing.

It's time to say good-bye.
Our class has come to an end.
I've made more cherished memories
and many more friends.
I've watched your children learn and grow
and change from day to day.
I hope that all the things we've done
have helped in some small way.
So its with happy memories
I send them out the door,
with great hope and expectations
for what next year holds in store.
At Camelot we use the Scholastic Video Collection with it's catchy music and skillful animation
to over 100 stories, including beloved children's classics such as Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are,
Crockett Johnson's Harold stories, Ezra Jack Keats's stories, and Robert McCloskey's Make Way for Ducklings,
as well as newer favorites such as Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault's Chicka Chicka Boom Boom,
Jules Feiffer's Bark, George, William Steig's Pete's a Pizza, Kevin Henkes's Chrysanthemum, and Peggy Rathmann's Good Night, Gorilla.
The children love to see their favorite Scholastic story books as a summertime movie.
No School Independence Day Observed
Independence Day Celebration with summer games and outdoor fun.
The best part of summer celebrations is that they do not have to be fancy or complicated to be a lot of fun. Just add some good fun to some good music, and the good times just naturally follow.
